First image is a 300 second exposure of Comet Hale Bopp made with a 178mm focal length Kodak Ektar lens working at f4.5. Image has been gamma and contrast scaled and a false colour pallate added to show detail. Image started at 05:49:36 EST on 20 February Field of view is approximately 5 degrees square. Image obtained using an SBIG ST8 camera, working in medium resolution mode (18 micron pixels).
Second image is a 300 second exposure of comet Hale Bopp taken using a 12 inch Maksutov telescope, working at f5. Image was taken through a Lumicon Swann Band filter, and camera was guided on motion of the comet. The original grey scale image has been coloured to show detail. Image taken at 04:58:04 EST. Image obtained using an SBIG ST8 camera, working in medium resolution mode (18 micron pixels). Field of view is approximately 0.3 degree (long RA axis) by 0,2 degrees (short declination axis).
Third image is 60 second image of Hale Bopp, through a Lumicon Swann Band Filter (Band Pass 494-523nm). Image obtained at 05:14:03 EST.
