First image is a 120 second exposure of comet Hale Bopp taken using a 12 inch Maksutov telescope, working at f5. Image was taken through a Lumicon Swann Band filter.. The original grey scale image has been coloured to show detail. Image taken at 05:45:18 EST. Image obtained using an SBIG ST8 camera, working in medium resolution mode (18 micron pixels). Field of view is approximately 0.3 degree (long RA axis) by 0,2 degrees (short declination axis). The second image is a false coloured version of the above 120 second exposure of comet Hale Bopp, The third image is a tri-colour image of comet Hale Bopp made of exposures through red, green and blue filters on the morning of 24th February 1997. Images taken between 0500 and 0600 EST. Red exposure was 210 seconds, Blue and green exposures were each 300 seconds.
