1. This picture was taken in Mont Chauve 5 miles from Nice - France, Long. 07 16 E, Lat. 43 45 N. Elevation: 800 m. The seeing was good, temperature 7 degrees C, 40% humidity. A strong wind was blowing. Last shooting day! I had decided that it was going to be the conclusion of many months of pictures of Comet Hale Bopp! This picture was taken using a 60mm Nikon lens at F/D 4, in 10s on Ektar 1000 on a tripod. The village of Carros is visible in the background and Comet Hale Bopp is chasing the day-old Moon and its ashen light. A tree on the foreground has been illuminated with the help of a torch.
