Location: Near Mount Megantic, QC, Canada
Date: March 9, 1997 09:15 UT
The wider field image was taken using a Canon FTB camera equipped with a 50mm F1.8 lens. Exposure time was 45 seconds on 400ASA film. The camera was mounted on an equatorial platform with a stepper motor.
The next image was shot through a 200mm F3.3 telephoto lens using the same setup as above. Sky conditions were excellent and the temperature was a chilling -25 degres C.
Mount Megantic is the site of the only professional astronomical observatory in the Province of Quebec.
