1. 3/7/97 0808 UTC 50mm f 2.0 30 seconds FUJI Super G 800. C/1995O1 comet Hale-Bopp one degree above the horizon!
2. 3/7/97 0855 UTC 50mm f 2.0 30 seconds KODAK Royal Gold 1000. It still amazes me how much detail can be obtained, under the right conditions, using the stationary camera with 20 to 30 second exposures. Here Hale-Bopp rises over some live oak trees on the beach at Ship Point, Cedar Island, North Carolina.
3. 3/7/97 0857 UTC 50mm f 2.0 30 seconds KODAK Royal Gold 1000. This is the same exact shot as the previous photo, except the beach grass, live oaks and junipers are illuminated by flash at exposure end. The pictures from this morning are my personal favorites.
