This image of comet Hale Bopp was taken Jan 28 about 12:20 UT with a Cookbook 245 ccd camera, surplus 160 mm fl f2.8 lens, 7 x 3 second stacked exposures in 378 wide mode from my roof in the middle of Wichita. No drive was used, just a crude alt az mount and tracked & stacked exposures with Superfix. The out-of-focus looking thing at top is, I believe, one of those pesky infrared bright stars that are not focused well by lenses.
