Notes: Comet 1996B2; 10 images of 30 sec. each in "track-and-accumulate" mode
(tracking was performed on the comet nucleus).
Original image was obtained with a 135mm (f/1.8) telephoto lens
and a SBIG ST6 CCD camera, piggy-back mounted on a 10" LX200
First image is a linear processing of the original image
second image was prepared with a log enhancement, and
third image represents the log image after histogram equalization
and false-colour LUT
CCD field is 3.5 x 2.75 degrees.
Comet tail was about 2 degrees long
