C/1996 B2 Hyakutake

100 sec exposure 1996 March 6.78020 (18.43 UT). North is up in this 23' X 15' field, a false colour palette is used to show the extent of the faint parabolic envelope. The brightening on the far right of the image is due to scattered Moonlight in the telescope. Taken with a 25cm f/4.1 Newtonian and HI-SIS 22 CCD from Loomberah NSW Australia.
