Comet C/1996 B2 (Hyakutake) at 11:09 UT, March 16, 1996. North is up, east is left, and the field of view is about 30 arcmin square. This false-color image is a composite of six 100-s exposures with a Photometrics CCD camera (Thomson 512 CCD) mounted on a 4-inch f/10 Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. This telescope is attached to the 0.4-m telescope at Limber Observatory and normally serves as a finder scope.
