COMET HYAKUTAKE VIEWING SESSION AT GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY

The JPL Astronomy Club will have a viewing session on March 27 at Griffith Observatory. Comet Hyakutake is expected to be the brightest comet in 20 years, and will pass only 0.10 AU from the Earth on March 25. The viewing session is open to the public, so if you are in the Los Angeles area during this time, you are welcome to join in and see the comet.

Griffith Observatory is located at:

Griffith Observatory
2800 East Observatory Rd.
Los Angeles, CA 90072
Phone: 213-664-1181

You can also contact Dave Nakamoto at JPL for additional information (din@blankreg.jpl.nasa.gov or 818-354-5328).

The Los Angeles Astronomical Society along with Griffith Observatory are also planning to have additional viewing sessions of Comet Hyakutake in late March, but the exact dates are still yet to be determined.
