C 1996 B2 Hyakutake

10 min exposure on hypersensitized Fuji HG400 with 8 inch f/1.5 schmidt camera at midtime of 0644 UTC on 24 March, taken near Red Rock Canyon, California. At least four pairs of ion rays show, along with the main plasma tail, which exhibits a twist. A strong color contrast is noted between the bright green coma and the deep blue plasma tail. The coma appears asymmetrical, being larger and brighter on the west. The field measures approximately 4 by 6 degrees, with north to the left and west up.
