There were lights under the windmill which make it look gold. I used a trial roll of film from Kodak, Gold MAX 800 with my Canon AE1 on a tripod with a cable release for approximately 15-20 seconds. I used a 50mm lens with the aperture set on automatic.

1. Near infrared image of comet Hale Bopp's central region using rotationnal gradient filtering. A series of 12x10 seconds exposures taken in the "z" band ( one micron central wavelength using an RG1000 filter ) was stacked. This wavelength shows the comet's dust continuum. Only a 300x300 pixels subframe of the whole field is shown in this image. The stacking process removes the background stars.

2. Near infrared image of comet Hale Bopp central region ( same as above ) using unsharp masking. From the same subframe as above, an unsharp based processing shows the same type of features, but in a slightly different manner.
