Comet Hale-Bopp viewed from Castro Alves Square, place where Carnival takes place every February. Here the famous poet was buried in 1897, after a life of fight against the slavery. The comet is very faint, almost on the statue's hand. Venus is setting at the left of the public telephone booth (the one with a "berimbau" shape). 50mm lenses and Kodak Ektapress Plus 1600.
