Schmahl Images of Comet Hale-Bopp

50mm lens at f1.7, 1000 Kodak Gold, 20 sec exposure, unguided.

1. On a rather cloudy evening, the Pleiades (hiding in the clouds), the Hyades, and the comet form a nice triangle.

2. During evening twilight, the comet peaked out of the clouds long enough for a portrait.
