For centuries, people have been entranced by the night sky and by our intriguing planetary neighbor, Mars. From the first U.S. mission in 1964 to the present day, Mars has proven to be a challenging destination. Dedicated teamwork and perseverance have made unprecedented engineering and science achievements possible. Through the evolving robotic journey to Mars, scientists and engineers in NASA's Mars Program have begun to reveal the many mysteries of the red planet. This talk will describe the latest missions, highlighting the Mars Exploration Rover project.
