Scientists were excited when they saw this smooth area (top frame) on Europa:
a "puddle" that probably formed as water flooded onto the surface. Ridges and
grooves in that area were buried by the event. The Landsat image (bottom)
of the San Francisco Bay area of California is scaled to the same size and
resolution.
