Following several days of analysis of the safing event that occurred four hours after closest approach to Europa during the latest encounter, the Galileo team has devised and implemented a plan for return to normal operations, including starting playback of the data successfully recorded before the fault occurred.
During the past few days, the flight team has continued analysis of the events leading up to the safing event and has developed a recovery plan that culminated with initiating science data plaback on Thursday, February 11.
