An animation of Hale-Bopp between 9:25 and 10:40 UT on the evening of 3 March 1998. The animation consists of a series of 10 second R band exposures taken with the Mount Stromlo and Siding Spring Observatories 40-inch telescope. The animation shows the inner region of comet and the image size is only 1.7 by 1.2 arcminutes. A single background star can be seen near the comet. The dimming of the comet near the start of the animation was caused by thin cloud.
