Comet C/1996 B2 (HYAKUTAKE) taken on MARCH 12 1996 at 09:38 UT by Denis Bergeron in Val-des-bois, Quebec, Canada
Equatorial coordinates (2000): AD:14 55 17.61" DCL:-16 57 06.4", MAGN: +7.0 measured with ASTROMETRICA software. The magnitude may be wrong because it was difficult to fit all of the comet`s head in the scale box of the software. However, I observed the comet with my 6"F4 and it was very bright and very large. No tail was visible with telescope.
Concerning the image: All images were exposed 30 sec and 20 images were added to do the JPEG image. You can see a thin tail in 4 O`clock position (right side). The comet goes directly north. I used a Meade SCT 10" LX-200 telescope and a CCD camera SBIG ST-6 at F5 prime focus (telecompressor lens).
