Date: April 1, 1997
Comet Hale-Bopp is show here, on April 1st, 1997, the day of perihelion,
with its ion tail stretching some 14 degrees to the Double Cluster in
Perseus.
Photo taken with a Nikon 85mm F/1.4 lens working at f/2.8 on unhypered
Fujicolor Super G 800 Plus color negative film, 5 minute exposure. Taken at
Cassel Observatory, New Buffalo, Pennsylvania, USA.
