The SWUIS UV/Vis imager experiment has successfully obtained its first image sequences of Hale-Bopp, and some data have been downlinked over TDRSS.

The SWUIS team is conducting data evaluations, and plans to post both updates and some preliminary image products over the www at http://www.boulder.swri.edu/swuis/ over the next two days.

SWUIS is scheduled to obtained additional images sequences on Aug 12, 14, and 15 as this Shuttle mission progresses.

Groundbased observers wishing to collaborate are encouraged to obtain complementary datasets.
