Observer: Ralph Pass
Location: Andover, Massachussetts
Date: April 5, 1997 01:04 UT
This is a combination of eight 20 second exposures of the comet starting at 01:04UT on April 5th. A 28mm F/3.5 lens was stopped to F/5.6. A Meade Pictor 416 was used to capture the image. A bilinear factor was used to reduce the effects of light pollution and the result image was logarithmically stretched. To the left and up from the head of the comet is the open cluster M34.
