These are three images taken 9th April, at St Mochtas Church in Clonsilla, Dublin, Ireland 23:15 Local time. They are from the first roll of film I ever shot of the night sky.
1. 20 seconds at f 2.8 50mm on Fujicolor 800 Super G Plus film scanned at 300 dpi on a Epson GT9500 from the print. Contrast adjusted in photoshop 3.05. The spire of the church was illuminated by a floodlight from the right hand side. Hale Bopp is seen through this light pollution but the blue ion trail is faintly visible.
2. 30 seconds at f 2.8 50mm on Fujicolor 800 Super G Plus film scanned at 300 dpi on a Epson GT9500 from the print. OK I cheated a bit on this one, there were two telephone wires under the coma of the comet which i removed with Clone tool in Photostyler 2.0 SE, while i was at it , I reduced the star trail in the background stars. I like the composition of this photo.
3. 30 seconds at f 2.8 50mm on Fujicolor 800 Super G Plus film This was adjusted using the levels control in Photoshop to enhance the ion trail. I also used the Dust and Scratches filter to reduce the grain in the scan
