Both photos taken by Mark Stafford and Kay Brown with a Canon EOS 35mm camera, an 80-200mm lens, Fuji SuperG 800 film. The photos were taken on a tripod and were unguided.

Photo 1: 4 May 1997, 8:55 pm CDT, Arma, KS, Comet Hale-Bopp in WNW over Pecan tree.

Photo 2: 4 May 1997, 9:20 pm CDT, Arma, KS, Comet Hale-Bopp just horth of due west over old church building.

The apparent visual magnitude of Comet Hale-Bopp is slightly less than +0.5. Visual tail length ~10 degrees. Comet Hale-Bopp is still currently visible until 10:15 pm CDT (local time). Arma, KS location: Lon -94.7 Lat +37.5.
