University of Hawaii Telescope Observation Plans

clrbar.gif

The University of Hawaii 2.2-meter telescope will be used to study the Saturn ring plane crossing events. For the May 1995 event, a large format (1024x1024) near-infrared camera will be used to search for new small satellites, and to characterize the G- and E-rings. Astronomers at the University of Hawaii will also be using other telescopes on Mauna Kea to study the ring-plane crossings.
